Saffron Mala Kaplan (she/he) is a proud Queer Jew of Color and a rabbinical student at Hebrew College in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a great lover of midrash and queer Torah with a soft spot for academic biblical studies. His favorite books of the Tanakh are Samuel and Ruth (i.e. the gayest ones).

Dr. Shula Mola is a researcher, educator, and social activist whose work explores memory, identity, gender, and belonging among Ethiopian Jews in Israel. Through oral history and ethnography, she documents community knowledge, women’s voices, and the ways marginalized communities preserve hope, resilience, and cultural continuity.

They have participated in multiple writing projects and fellowships, such as PEN America’s “DREAMing Out Loud,” National Queer Theatre’s “Write It Out,” and Brooklyn public library’s Justice Initiatives’ “Bridges” zine.
